Chuck and Ned, as young children, were neighbors and best friends, they even shared their first kiss with one another. When Ned's mother died, he reached down to touch her and brought her back to life. Unbeknownst to him, until later, because his mother had re-awakened for over a minute, someone else had died... Chuck's father. When Ned touched his mother again she died forever. The two were split up then and had gone their separate ways, until Ned notices Chuck on the news...she had been murdered. Ned and Emerson go to the funeral home to reawaken Chuck and find out who had killed her so they can collect the reward money. Although, unlike usual, Ned can't seem to touch her once more so that she returns to the grave. The crooked funeral home director dies because of Ned's decision, although it seems to be one that he is able to live with. Chuck moves in with Ned and the two live a love-filled yet hard life since the two can't touch. Although, Chuck's vast imagination never fails her and she always seems to find a way for the two to be able to finally touch one another.
